USC COVID-19 Policies & Safety Protocols

This webpage is the primary resource for University Skating Club members and registrants for information regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus). 

University Skating Club will follow COVID-19 guidelines as per public health and Skate Canada requirements.

Coaches, Skaters and Family members will be asked to wear masks in the building. Double vaccination is required and health screening questionnaires will be conducted to ensure the safety of everyone. Check our COVID-19 Policy for more details.

USC will enforce policies and protocols to ensure social distancing and close physical restrictions are kept in place. This includes, but is not limited to the below protocols:

  • Masks or face shields must be worn while in the facility
  • Change rooms and designated areas for changing skates
  • On-ice protocols
  • Off-ice protocols
  • Parents and guardians

Skate Canada and COVID-19

All registered members of Skate Canada must sign a Skate Ontario COVID-19 Waiver.

University Skating Club COVID-19 Response Plan

Drafted in accordance with Skate Ontario regulations, the University Skating Club has published a COVID-19 Response Plan. It addresses the policies and protocols that are in keeping with safety and health regulations. This includes protocols to follow,

  • If An Individual Shows Symptoms Of COVID-19
  • If An Individual Is Tested For COVID-19
  • If An Individual Tests Positive For COVID-19
  • For Returning To Club Activities Following Illness
  • For Returning To Club Activities Following COVID-19

University Skating Club and Varsity Centre Arena

The University Skating Club is working in conjunction with COVID-19 procedures that are put in place by Varsity Centre Arena.

In order to maintain the safety of everyone entering the facility, Varsity Centre Arena requires that members of the community attending any programs they accommodate to fill in a pre-screening COVID-19 Self-Assessment questionnaire.

The pre-screening tool will be available online (linked above) and printed copies will also be available at check-in if you do not have access to the online form. Please be ready to present your completed form (digital/mobile or print copy) when you check-in.

Please ensure that you have taken and submitted the form before your arrival to the rink.
