About Us

The University (Figure) Skating Club was founded in 1922 by members of the University of Toronto. Our home ice is the warm and near Olympic-sized Varsity Arena, centrally located in downtown Toronto. We are an adult-oriented club with a tradition in ice dancing. We welcome ice dancers and freeskaters of all levels of ability.

Whether you are new to the sport or returning to it, our club will appeal to you. Our relaxed and friendly atmosphere makes everyone feel welcome. For those who are more serious about figure skating, private lessons are available from our excellent coaching staff. Many of our skaters follow the StarSkate test stream and are working on attaining Preliminary to Diamond levels in free skate, dance, interpretive and skating skills.

The University Skating Club is a full member of the national skating association Skate Canada and its regional affiliate, the Skate Canada Central Ontario Section.

The University Skating Club is a not-for-profit organization run by its volunteer members.
